The Cremation Process
A Direct Cremation is your trusted partner in fulfilling final wishes for you or your loved one. We know this is a stressful time, but read on to learn more about how we’ve worked hard to make the difficult easier.
If your loved one has passed away, please let us know as soon as possible by submitting the Contact Us form on this website or by calling us toll free at (877) 205-9433. An A Direct Cremation Specialist is available around the clock to take your call.
After your initial contact with us, we will make all the arrangements to promptly and respectfully transport your loved one to our facility. An A Direct Cremation Transfer Technician will arrive within 2 hours of your notification to take care of all your needs.
Cremation generally occurs within one week after all documents and state approvals are received. These time frames may vary based on local coroner availability, but your cremation advisor will be in touch with you throughout the process to keep you informed.
Once cremation is complete, we’ll gather your loved one’s remains, place them in a utility urn or another urn you have chosen, and ship them to you. Shipping within the U.S. is tracked at all times via United States Postal Service. You will be notified when your urn has shipped, and a signature will be required upon delivery.
We take special precautions to safeguard identity with a personal identification band that is placed on your loved one the moment he or she is taken into our care. Our personal identification system tracks every phase of the cremation process including name, date, time, your loved one’s personal ID number and the name of the responsible A Direct Cremation Transfer Technician.
We only employ certified cremation technicians who are responsible for reviewing all cremation paperwork, permits and IDs, and who sign their approval prior to cremation. Your loved one’s identification disc is also placed inside the cremation chamber during the cremation process for further positive ID.
A Direct Cremation’s personal identification system and secure facility provide family members with the peace of mind that we will return your loved one’s remains safely back to you.
Unlike many other companies, we own and operate our own crematory. This means from the moment your loved one is entrusted to us, he or she never leaves our care. A Direct Cremation offers low cost options to our customers without ever sacrificing service or security.
We’re always here for you. Just contact us toll free at (877) 205-9433 to talk with a trusted Cremation Specialist.
